On February 28th, the opening ceremony of the 2019 spring semester for international students was held in the library lecture hall. Kong Weijin, Vice President of Qingdao University, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Warangkana Nibhatsukitdeng, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Arts of Thailand, Naowarat Patipatpakdee, Associate Dean, Yan Yanan, President of the Qingdao University Thai Alumni Association, Feng Zhanbing, Professor of the Baiko Gakuin University, and more than 300 freshmen and faculty of International Education School attended the opening ceremony.

        On behalf of the Qingdao University, Kong Weijin expressed warm welcome to international students from all over the world. He briefly introduced the general situation of our university, the work about international students and the internationalization work of our school. He hoped that the students study hard in the new semester, make new friends, know China, love Qingdao University, and become a qualified messenger of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, and everyone can spend an unforgettable and wonderful time at Qingdao University.

        Meng Wei, a representative from the United States, made a speech on behalf of all the freshmen. She said that Qingdao is a historical and cultural city with unique charm. It is a great honor to be a student of Qingdao University. She said that all international students will see Qingdao University as the place where dreams begin. They will learn Chinese and Chinese culture, gain knowledge and make friends, improve ability, and realize their dreams.

       Amy Li, a scholarship winner of Russian government, delivered a speech on behalf of sophomore. He extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the new classmates and shared his thoughts and experiences in studying and living in our school. He wishes all international students can learn new knowledge, make new friends, develop new habits, and start a new study life at Qingdao University.

     After the opening ceremony, teachers of the International Education School introduced the curriculum, teaching management and things about visas and safety.
