Recently, Qingdao Science and Technology Information Research Institute released the “Qingdao Basic Research Frontier Development Report (2018)”. The report analyzes the SCI papers and ESI papers published in Qingdao from 2011 to 2017. The report shows that Qingdao University has the largest number of publications, and has published 97 ESI papers, accounting for 23.77% of the number of ESI papers in Qingdao.

      According to the report, the growth rate of SCI and ESI papers in Qingdao ranks second in the national sub-provincial cities, second only to Shenzhen.Universities are the main force of basic research in Qingdao.The number of universities' ESI papers published accounted for 85.29% of the city's total.
