On April 13th afternoon, Uruguay Ambassador to China Fernando Lugris and  President of the Republic of Uruguay University Dr. Roberto Markarán and his wife visited Qingdao University. Fan Yuejin, the Party secretary and President of Qingdao University met with visiting guests in the meeting room 201 of the office building. The Deputy Secretary of the Party, Yi Chuijie, the Standing Committee member and Vice President of the college, Xia Dongwei attended the meeting.

Then, in front of the Confucius status before Bowen building of Fushan campus, the two sides held a launching ceremony of the co-construction Confucius Institute. Fan Yuejin, Roberto and Fernando delivered speeches respectively, and jointly expressed their best wishes to the establishment of this Confucius Institute，which located in Qingdao sister city as well as the capital city Montevideo. At the launching ceremony, students of School of Arts and Foreign Language School recited Confucius classic articles in both Chinese and Spanish.
