From June 1stto 7th,Hisense computer assisted surgery system (Hisense CAS) jointly developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University and Hisense was officially unveiled in the “National 12th Five-Year PlanScience and Technology Achievement Exhibition" held in Beijing Exhibition Hall. This is one of the ten science and technology innovation achievements of Qingdao selected for the exhibition.
Professor Dong Qian, a Ph.D supervisor, is the leader of this research.Dong is also the Executive deputy director of the medical Department of Qingdao University as well as theDean of the First Clinical Medical College and Digital Medicine and Computer Assisted Surgery Research Institute.
The system is able to turn the CT data of the patient's liver into a three-dimensional digital liver, helping doctors assess, plan, and design the operation program more accurately before surgery.During operation, without touching the computer, doctors can manipulate the surgery navigation with gestures. The system turns the digital precision medicine into a reality, changes thinking modes and methods of surgeons, breaks the predicament that China's high-tech digital medical devices rely entirely on imports, thus leading China’s digital medical treatment to the world's leading ranks. At present, the system has been applied in more than 30 tertiary referralhospitals for clinical use, completed more than 1,000 cases of surgeries. Some foreign hospitals are actively conducting negotiations about the introduction of it.
The system got enthusiastic response from all walks of life during the exhibition.People's Daily,Health News, CCTV News, the CCTV Morning News,CCTV Evening News and Qingdao TV Station all made reports about it.In June 8th, “science, technology and the innovation of life”of the CCTV column “Focus Interview” also highlighted this scientific research achievement.
