Professor Peifeng Li is the Dean of Institute of Translational Medicine Qingdao University from 2014. He obtained his PhD in Medicine in July 1993 from Chinese Academy of Medical Science. Afterwards, he was an Assistant Professor from 1993 to 1995 in Chinese Academy of Medical Science. For the next eight years (1998-2005), he was a Medical Researcher at Max-Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine in Germany. From 2005 to 2013, he worked as a professor in Chinese Academy of Science.
Professor Li was elected to the “Hundred-Talent Program (Chinese Academy of Sciences)”. He also won a couple of awards and prizes, including Young Investigator Award (Chinese Academy of Medical Science), Advancement in Medical Science (2nd Prize), Advancement in Science and Technology (3rd Prize) and Wuxi study life Chemistry Award, etc.
Professor Li’s research focuses on the cardiovascular apoptosis and necrosis, non-coding RNA in heart diseases and cardiac regeneration. He has published over 90 articles in international journals (Total Impact Factor: 467.212), such as Molecular Cell, EMBO Journal, Nature Medicine, European Heart Journal, Nature Communication, Circulation, and Circulation Research. His research is also highly estimated in these journals, including Nature China, Circulation Research, Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, and so on. Based on his academic contributions, he has been honored with several prestigious accolades awards. He was granted for 9 patents. His publications have been cited over 2700 times. He has been a member of the American Heart Association (from 2007) and International Society for Heart Research (from 2007). Also, he has served as a reviewer for many international foundations, such as an editor for several journals like Dataset Papers in Biology, Journal of Clinical and Experimental Cardiology, Journal of Cardiology and Therapy and Journal of Geriatric Cardiology. He is an associate editor for Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine.
