China's Big Data Industry Summit, namely China Electronic Commerce Innovation and Development Summit，was held in Guiyang on May 25thand 26th. Premier Li Keqiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Party Secretary and President of Qingdao University, Fan Yuejin was invited to attend the summit opening ceremony and a series of activities, and gave aninterview to the Guizhou TV. President Fan also inaugurated the Chinese Big Data Transaction Joint Laboratory with representatives from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Lanzhou University, etc.
The laboratory is based on the Guiyang Big Data Exchange. Involving more than 20 universities in the country, it is designed to promote the successful experience of large data transactions, large data cross-industrial and cross-regional circulation,development and utilization. Vice Chairman ofQingdao Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, President of the Institute of Data Technology and Smart City of Qiingdao University Shao Fengjing and Qingdao University Party Standing Committee Member, Vice President Wang Liming attended the relevant activities.
During the meeting, one of our partners, the Indian National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) Global CEO Mr. Pateldelivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony and introduced the talent-training model jointly developed by Qingdao University and NIIT. Mr. Fan and Mr. Patel discussed the further issues of improving the talent training quality, strengthening employment guidance for graduates, and adding NIIT programsto Qingdao University’sselective courses, as well as carrying out the second professional cooperation, developing service of primary and secondary education and so on.
